Art Alumnus Wins National Honors

The first-place prize in the National Portrait Gallery’s 2009 Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition went to Colorado State art alumnus Dave Woody of Fort Collins for a photograph titled “Laura.” The award includes a $25,000 prize and a separate commission from the museum to portray a notable American that will hang in the Gallery’s permanent collection. Woody’s photograph was chosen from more than 3,300 entries submitted from across the country.
